Easter Ardoe Steading is a characterful four-bedroom home in Ardoe, just outside Aberdeen. The visual media was created for the property's residential sales marketing, with the aim of showcasing the scale, finish and character of the home while giving buyers a clear sense of the interior spaces and surrounding grounds.
A Home With Character and Space
One of the strongest features of Easter Ardoe Steading is the contrast between its traditional origins and the modern interior finish.
The main living area combines the lounge and kitchen into a large open-plan space, with natural oak flooring, a Neptune kitchen and direct access to the conservatory and garden. The property also includes four bedrooms, three bathrooms and substantial outdoor space.
For this marketing package, we provided HDR property photography, drone imagery and a video walkthrough, creating a complete set of visual media designed to show both the quality of the interior and the property's wider setting.
HDR Photography for a Bright, Detailed Interior
The property contained several areas with a significant difference between interior and exterior light, particularly around the conservatory, French doors and large windows.
HDR photography was used to retain more detail throughout these scenes, producing balanced images that showed both the interior finishes and the brighter areas beyond the windows.
This was particularly useful in the open-plan living spaces, where maintaining detail across the room helped communicate the size, layout and connection between the kitchen, lounge, conservatory and garden.
The result was a polished set of images with a wide tonal range while still maintaining a natural appearance.
Photographing the Interior
A major priority was showing how the different spaces connected.
Rather than treating every room as an isolated photograph, wider compositions were used where appropriate to help potential buyers understand the flow through the home.
Particular attention was given to:

The landscaped gardens surround the property, while an additional area of woodland extends to approximately one-third of an acre.
Drone photography provided a perspective that ground-level images alone could not, helping show the relationship between the house, gardens, woodland and surrounding area.
For properties with larger grounds or a distinctive location, aerial photography can be particularly effective because it gives buyers immediate context that can otherwise be difficult to communicate through standard exterior photographs.
